After all my brake problems last year, I am in need of a Brembo master cylinder and lever. Anyone have on that will fit my bike? glenn #62

Good thing is they are universal.... Just decide if you want 19X18 or 19X20 and go for it...

You know they made Brembo Masters illegal for SS over in Utah right?Originally Posted by Throttleroller277

They got rid of that rule last year (at the last minute).
Did they pull it back in for 2008??

yup, it's in, it's out, it's in, it's out
Can someone explain what the differences are in the 19x18 and the 19x20? Glenn #62
19x18 is actually a common OEM size, 19x20 is bigger and more powerful
i guess it means...
19mm of stroke and 20mm of bore... which mean that it pushes more fluid per mm then a 19mm bore.
i guess the 20mm has less feel as it take less travel to push the same amount of fluid, but for bite...

19X18 levers are easier to get however... I have a 19X20 and Ive had a hard time getting a lever for less than 60+ bucks... Ive been using 19X18 levers which work but are slightly different.

Be careful doing that, the lever will bind up because you are trying to push the pin around an arc, not directly into the mastercylinder. Dale had brake problems because of this, it aint pretty when it happens :wink:Originally Posted by bluedevil

i have a 19x18 and both bite and feel/control are unreal. i can't imagine wanting more as it seems like it would be too much. (running stock 4 piston calipers on an f4i with vesrah rjl's)
and for what it's worth (certainly nothing to me as slow as i am), rossi and hayden both use a billet 19x18.
actually, that's not quite right....the cylinder bore is the same at 19mm, but you have an extra 2mm of leverage on the lever, so you get more brake power for the same amount of pull on the lever.Originally Posted by motobum
also, direct from brembo..."match the pivot length of the lever with the pivot length of the master cylinder (2nd number) " to avoid the binding situation mentioned earlier.
It's illegal in WERA SS too.
but legal in CCS
Legal is MRA SS

I don't see where MoM/USBA has actually posted their final rule changes for 2008? Are they finalized? 8)
