Anyone can tell me how to get more braking power on my 99 R1 for reasonable money?
Do I need just bigger master cylinder? What do I have to change if I do that?
Running stock brake now and need something better.
Thx.

BUY a Brembo 19X20 master cylinder. That should do the trick!

Nope they are very easy to put on. Make sure you bleed your brakes with good fluid when you put the new master on. I can always help you if you need me to.Originally Posted by Mforza

She left for greener pastures at least that's the corporate answer though I heard there was some nastiness involved. Like mujch in life we may never know. She had been with the company which was actually owned by her dad and another since I've been racing and that's been a long time what became of her I ain't heard but she helped many of us out for years. Donny the new fellow seems a bit green but's willing to go the extra mile so continue to go there for your. Brembo, marchesini and now Ferodo needs. They also stock Renthral sprockets for those Marchensinis too.
I don't want to state the obvious, but you have steel lines right?Originally Posted by Mforza

Martin, FYI if you're still using the pads I sold the bike with they are EBC HH pads. I know faster guys use something more aggressive. Otherwise the master is a good idea.
Hope she's treating you well.
Signed guy you bought said R1 from.
Man, that bike rocks! I love it!
Did some upgreads to it and can not say anything bad about it.
But yes, the brake pads are the same, will have to replace them soon.
Not much left.

If you change pads/compounds make sure to deglaze them using a brake hone.....good thing to do every now and again regardless while checking thickness and run out.
Good point Jon. thxOriginally Posted by Jon
