In 2010 there will be some new opportunities for Novices to complete their novice hours.

According to rulebook section 4.1(a) all novice racers are required to complete 4 hours of community service to the club before advancing to expert. Additionally all results for novices who DO NOT complete their community service hours will be deleted at the end of the season.

Timeframe to complete Novice Hours for 2010 is from right now, until the track goes cold following the last race of the season (October 10, 2010)

The following is a list of opportunities for Novices in 2010

1) Attend MRA monthly general meetings (1 hour credit per meeting attended)

2) Perform an approved community service function to the club. Examples would be; Working at this year's awards banquet (Feb 6, 2010), Working at approved MRA promotional events such as bike nights. Schedules for these will be posted as they become available.

3) There are always things we haven't thought of. If you have an idea that would bring value to the club that isn't listed here please feel free to contact a board member for approval.

4) Finally there is a Novice Hour "buyout" option for 2010. The cost is $100 and covers all 4 hours. There is no partial buyout option.

You can find a schedule of MRA events here, including general meetings and promotional events.
