Clarkie is a everywhere on the forums.

As far as tire warmers go do you have to have them???
This is very subjective to alot of things.

How competitive you want to be.
What size bike you are on.
What brand of tire you will be using. (Pirelli for example are very quick to heat up and on a 70 degree day the Pirelli's can be near operating temp after the warm up lap.

If you can afford them i would get them.
They are confidence building(turn one lap one). The help make the tires useable longer (reduce heat cycles).
I personally use Chicken Hawks because the product is very good and the actually have customer service that will help you.
