For anyone wanting to update to the next level You might look into the AIM SOLO lap timer I just started using one on my SM bike and it's the real deal.
They don't market it towards the bikes yet ( they will soon) it's a GPS lap timer with down loadable data like g forces, track mapping, too much to go into.

I just ordered it from AIM they are in So. Cal. I would guess they sell to dealers as well.
