    2011 Trophies / Sponsors

First of all I would like to thank our 2011 Trophy sponsors for their continued support of the MRA.

Hopefully everyone liked the “something different” cost effective trophies we had for our 2011 season. I would like to thank those folks that helped contribute to our recycling efforts in 2011. These efforts of allowing us to recycle did help contribute to managing our costs efficiently throughout the year.

Additionally I am happy to announce that for 2011 we will have our year end championship picture plaques. In some years past we have not always been able to support these highly desired year end plaques, and I have made it a goal to help ensure that this year we would maintain our budget which included this year end plaque.

As we roll into the off season and approach 2012 please keep in mind that any 2011 Trophy sponsor will have 1st right of refusal to their sponsored class. If any of you know of someone interested in sponsoring a class for 2012 please contact me (Aaron Fisk) and I will get their name in the cue for next year.

    Thanks again,
    Aaron Fisk

That is awesome!!! It was a great feeling last year getting a top 5 plaque with my picture. I know in years past you had to win the championship to get one. Good job!!!!

How do you get pictures of us?

Do you sit outside our house in your car stalking us and getting some shots off as we walk to the car or to get the mail?

Usually they use one of the vendors pics from the season.

Is there a way to suggest one you already paid for to be used??

If the pic is from the vendor they are using I'm sure you can ask for that pic to be used. Last year I asked for a specific pic and Mr. Fisk and the vendor totally made it happen for me

Congrats to all the top finishers this year!

Since this is my first full year, I am curious what the awards are for the various positions. I envision:

Places 1-5 get a picture plaque
6-10 get a random decorative plate from the Franklin Mint
11-20 a nifty ribbon from the 1982 Iowa State Fair
20-999 get a hearty handshake and a scratch and sniff sticker that says "Needs Improvement"

    Am I close?

And for the record, KFinn, that stalker was me. Ever since I found out you're looking for nuts on craigslist...

I think it depends on the photographer they decide to use.

That would be way too much brain damage. Remember we do top 10 for ROR (both) and top 5 for all other classes. That's over 120 plaques.

The pictures are easy enough to remove and replace after the fact if that is your desire.

    Define "obvious"

A few years back I put pictures of Bob the Long Haired Billy Goat on all of Dave Gallant's plaques. That seemed to be the "obvious" choice at the time...

Not pics that resemble last years ceramic trophies, looks like the slowest novice ever.

And last year Jeff Brown selected the photo of me blowing up my engine at pueblo for one of my plaques, which I'm pretty sure seemed an "obvious choice" as well.....

I couldn't help it.... had you not gotten several other plaques, I wouldn't have thrown that one in there...... Don't feel bad, I picked one for Glenn Conser's ROR Plaque that was him sliding on his head through turn 8... 8)

No, I'm glad you did! It's one of my favorites and it allows me to tell stories about racing to others who see it.
