    Racing Leathers Off the Shelf

I am wondering what suit manufacturer tends to provide a slightly larger chest measurement in comparison to the average off the shelf type suit. I have tried Tecknic and Alpine Stars, all fairly tight in the chest area and worse when I fit in the back protector. If I go up a size, then the suit is too long. The height and length of my current suit is fine, it's just that the chest area could be a better fit. I'm sure my suit isn't broken in yet but I can't imagine it relaxing that much after much use.

Stop working the pecs so much at the gym!

Can you give your dimensions? It might help give people an idea of what "bigger in the chest" means. Me, I am a skinny guy, waif-ish really (don't hate), so won't likely be any direct help, but I bet some of our other riders will help if they know your size.

Most of your european suit companys do run small shoulder as do the japanese suits, try joe rocket as they seem a little bigger in the torso.

    Info

Teknic Suit Size chart...I'm 5'-8", 168#, Size 44" Chest. I purchased a size 42. You can see a size 44 suit is fitted for a person 6' tall, this suit, which I did try on is too long and elbow and knee pads hit the wrong spots (too long). The 42 size fits correct except it is tight in the chest, again especially with the back protector in.

Size Chart for Men's 1 and 2 Piece Suits

Suit Size Chest Waist Sleeve Length Inseam Apx Height Apx Weight
    38 38" 28"-29" 25" 30" 5'4" 140 lbs
    40 40" 30"-31" 25.5" 30.5" 5'8" 150lbs
    42 42" 32"-33" 26" 31" 5'10" 160lbs
    44 44" 34"-35" 26.5" 31" 6'0" 170lbs
    46 46" 36"-37" 27" 31.5" 6'2" 180lbs
    48 48" 37"-38" 27.5" 32" 6'3" 195lbs
    50 50" 39"-40" 28" 32.5" 6'4" 210lbs
    52 52" 40"-41" 28.5" 33" 6'5 220lbs
    54 54" 42" 29" 33.5" 6'6" 240lbs

I'll check out the Joe Rocket suits... if it doesn't work, guess I'll need to custom fit? Appreciate the help.

I'm about the same size as you and have the same problem finding a off the shelf suit that fits.

I have a Dainese Laguna Seca right now and it fits me perfect with chest and back protector in. I have a size 44 and I am 5' 8" and 173 lbs.

Every thing else I have tried has been to tall/skinny for my frame

    Hope this helps?

    Thanks!

I'll look at the Dainese too. I knew someone out there in MRA land has had the same issues.

Yeah, give the dainese a try. Mine is a couple years old so hopefully they haven't changed there sizing but this one fits me good. knee and elbow sliders are all in the right place and the sleeves are just perfect, not too long which is big problem on most suit that fit my waist/chest size since they are usually made for a 6ft+ person.

I think Alpine Stars makes a "short" suit.

Dainese fits me well, they use a lot of stretch material which helps. I think 303 may have some of their stuff in stock.
