Transponders 2011: What You Should Know

    Hey All,

A few things for those racing this weekend:

\/ - We have 28 transponders available for renting. It is first come/first serve at $50 for the weekend, but the club has yet to run out since we started using them. They will be available when the race day office opens on Saturday morning.

 - The list of transponder numbers generated from the license applications has just been entered into the timing computer. If you did not write your transponder number on your application, or sent me the info directly, I have not registered a transponder for you. Please see me Saturday morning with transponder in hand to avoid any data entry errors. If you prefer to avoid the raceday rush, send me an email: transponders@mra-racing.info with your full name, rider number, and seven digit transponder ID. I won't be able to check the forums with reliability, so a PM may not be seen in time.

[-o< - Please remember to check your practice times before racing! A printed sheet is not generated until practice is completely over, but I am more than willing to verify a working transponder and/or lap times with those who show up in the office. It's a lot easier on everybody to correct issues during practice. Once the racing starts, a formal protest (written, time stamped by a Board Member within 30 minutes of results being posted, and accompanied by $25 - cash or certified check) is needed to get you onto the results because of any issue involving scoring. The additional benefit is you get to preview your lap times before they are officially posted.

:-k - Don't forget it takes around 15 hours to charge your transponders, and you need to be there to unplug them to prevent damage from overcharging. So plug them in no later than Friday at around 2:00 pm if you have power through the night. This gives a couple hours little wiggle room before practice to completely charge the battery. For everyone with a direct power unit, "kia kaha" and "hakuna matata".

    Hope this helps,

Take it off the charger. It will blink the green light for how many "days" it can hold the current charge.

    Mine blinks 4 times.
