Banks !! Your goin into the weeds too ..... lol.

The stock run with out exhaust is like 25 if I remember . Bart showed me one from another bike he ran . Mine was like 27 with out a tune . It came from California so it was running fat . It really made a difference in how it ran all over not so much a power gain .

    Thankx again Batman

Ps I'm gonna write my rent checks and play my PSP on the straights. And poke people with a stick 00--00 [-X

    Got mine back yesterday:

25 HP on "Cali-Tune" (really fat)

30.6 HP - no jet "kit" but some different jets installed. Running happy now.

I don't know Jon, having ONE bike going slow on the straight is one thing, having 5 or 6 equal bikes on the track I think there's going to be some drafting and some "strateeegery" going on that ought to keep it pretty interesting.

Then again, I might be fooling myself. I'm pretty sure that there's some guys who already have these bikes that are going to remind me of how slow I really am.

No joke man...I got bored on the back straight at IMI last week...

Mine isn't safety wired yet, but I'll bring it out to compare it to the new ones...and maybe take it out on a parade lap...

I'd be curious to see what mine is putting down...I had to shim the needles to smooth it out a bit, but haven't gotten a chance to ride it since

I think the fully prepped bikes Tony brought back were in the $4250-$4500 range. Those are 08/09 models.

All said and done, we ended up paying $3750 for the '08's and $4000 for the '09 - got a better deal since we bought so many.

So it appears that the lightweight GP, Supertwins U classes are going away? Am I correct in my assumption?

Is there time enough in the weekend for still more races?

Sure is. Sunday ends by 3:30 or 4:00 now - so adding one sprint won't be a big deal, and we're doing some "small" tweaking on Saturday to make it fit.

I am curious - in addition to the bikes that are in from CA courtesy of Tony - how many others are there? And are they pre-2008 ? 2008+?

I plan to find and prep a 250 this winter - and looking primarily at pre08 for lower cost - obviously still awaiting some rulings on what truly is the "spec" and allowable - but curious to know where everyone else is at today -

Needless to say - if there are a bunch of pre08 - and wheels/tires being the potential differentiation - how many guys have or are building pre08 and how will that effect the rules

I believe its a good stat to understand early - as it could guide or shape the outcome of the rules meeting.

    Cheers

PS - see you all this weekend - will be keenly interested to see the current 250's at HPR and watch the racing! And if they run CO class Sunday - Im hoping you may not lap me on my 43 yr old 160...

PSS - as a "spec" class - and per the original premise - exhaust, jetting and tires seem the limit on 08+, if pre08 - I would simply state in addition to the previous - wheels/tires may be upgraded to 08+ OE. At least than the pre08 will be "closer" to 08+ and still make the racing close/fun.

    Appreciate that Casey!

If 08+ - Tony's bikes are a deal!! Prepped and ready - and a good price!

Hence my thoughts on "cheap" - say a pre08 for ~$1k + ~$1k in prep (all spec legal of course) - a racer for $2k!! Thats about what I have in my 160 build - and albeit she aint fast - its still the most fun I've had - I expect a Ninja 250 will deliver the same thrill/fun factor regardless of pre or new gen. And while I'd love to be competitive - with all of em - if Im a MPH or 2 slower - it still wont diminish the good time!

IF the job treats me well - and one were available - Id buy one of the race ready bikes in a heartbeat... If I take the cheap approach - itll be pre08.

That's my plan for over the winter. I already have the camo wrap so it will match my ZX6.
