    valve jobs

Got your motor apart, want a valve job done on a extremely precise machine capable of 3, 5, 7 angle, or full radius valve cuts.

Proven valve seat concentricity. Why is concentric cuts on the seats important, valve sealing firstly, secondly valve guide/valve stem wear. if the valve is not touching down on the seat in a concentric manner then it applies sideways pressure on the stem and guide leading to wear and loose tolerances between the stem and guide.

There's many brands of valve machines on the market, serdi used to be pretty popular, but the rest of the manufactures have caught up and passed them in their head machine technology. ALL the manufactures use the same cutters, and basically the same cutter holding assemblys. there's subtle differences in machine designs, but they all basically do the same thing. I purchased a rottler machine, after looking very closely at all the other brands especially the serdi. I came very familiar with the equipment up in oregon working for motoczysz and the results of the machine were good enough for Cosworth Formula one engineers, so they were good enough for me.

here's some pics of a set of ducati 999 heads that i am just about to finish up.

In the pics you'll see that I have bored out the old steel valve seats and am replacing them with Bronze intake seats, and Beryllium copper exhaust seats.

The reasoning for the Bronze and beryllium is becuase these heads are getting converted to Titanium valves, like the "R" motors. These heads came from the factory with stainless steel valves.

Bronze and beryllium firstly are a much softer material than the stock seats, thus allowing the sealing face of the Titanium valves to live longer and not get beat up.

Beryllium acts like a heat sink and also helps pull heat off the exhaust valve dissapating it in the head.

These heads are getting oversized valves so you'll see that in some pics the ports don't quite line up right, but after some porting everything comes back into focus and airflow through the port is smooth and unobstructed. They aren't quite finished in the last pic there's clean up needed on some things, but you get the picture.

I can do valve jobs on all makes, inline 4's, twins, triples, etc.... any model yamaha, suzuki, kawi, honda and ducati obviously.

Call me for info and prices.

I am doing a couple crf 450's right now.

the 4 seats them cost $135 ( if you want bronze and beryllium seats, steel seats are half that price)

and then labor to cut out the old seats install the new ones and cut the seats is $150.

you have to supply your own valves and valve seals.
