im curious to know what clubs rent AMB transponders for less then $50 a weekend.
Seems that is the going rent for most clubs that are using them.

How come when we rented them it was $60 for the year now it's $50 for the weekend? Those damn transponders cost some of us thousands when all was said and done!

The MRA owned all of the transpoders before. This was kind of a risk for the club because they are basically impossible to insure. Chris Dale was transporting them and mainly had full time possession of them. What would have happened if his car was stolen, wrecked or what ever while the transponders were in his car.
The $50.00 rate is what most other clubs that use AMB are charging. My understanding is if you are only going to race a couple of weekends renting might be the way to go. If you are racing half the season or more you might be better off owning your own.
If the club rented out the transponders for much less then $50.00 per weekend no one would purchase their own transponders and the club would still be responsible for all of them.
