i rode battlax's for a while then tried michellin race tires and didnt notice a difference. i felt a little more confident with the michellins but i think thats just because i was actually getting faster and more confident with myself.
any of the manufacturers race tires will work great for you. im a noob (1:44-1:45 lap times at pueblo) and have only run used/take off tires since i started riding on a track last year.
i started off with riding my normal street tires (dunlops, bridgestone) at the track which was fine until i actually started pushing myself.
i will never ever ever ride a street rated tire at the track again. You can tell a huge difference in the profiles and stickyness. Street tires are so low/flat while a track rated tire will have that steeper angle that makes you feel like you can just lay your bike into turns.

i have heard from experienced riders that dunlops give you more feedback before the tire gives out from under you compared to michelins, but im not sure how true that really is. a lot of factors like suspension set up, body position on bike, what you do with the throttle during a turn etc will play into how a tire feels to you.

but im a noob so you really dont have to listen to anything i have to say 8)
