HPR Fundraising update (Past $2 million!)

Today is a big day in the HPR story, we have eclipsed the $2 million dollar mark in total fundraising. We need to end up in the neighborhood of $2.8 - $3.0 million total to have a reasonable facility. Obviously more money means more and better amenities (real buildings with bathrooms and showers, RV pedestals, day garages, etc)

Here's what we have so far:

CAMA "seed" money - $883,000 (this is the money that was rebated to the clubs from SCR and reinvested in CAMA, plus the $50k from each of the clubs treasuries, plus some other miscellaneous monies)

Fundraising Donations - $455,000 (MINIMUM needed is $500,000, goal is $1 million)

Loans - $700,000 (this is money that is being made available for loan to CAMA from various members of the CAMA clubs, goal is $1.4 million. Money is added to the total when the signed commitment papers are given to CAMA)

    Total as of 1/28 - $2,038,000

Here is an updated list of the MRA contributors to date, in alphabetical order. If a name appears more than once, it means they have donated more than once:

**edited** I have taken this list down because I screwed it up so badly, there were too many people that were either on both lists or neither and I haven't had a chance yet to get things properly corrected.

Once again, thanks to all those that have donated. We are starting a phone call campaign to try and get some more funds collected now that the zoning is complete and we own the land.

To have that many racers not donate anything thus far, is crazy! Come on, we spend so much money on crap nowadays. Don't go out to dinner and skip on Starbucks and donate THAT money if you have to. Step it up! 8)

Perhaps now that we own the land

    http://forums.mra-racing.org/viewtopic.php?t=5623

people will see that this is "REAL" and it IS going to happen!

I've already given a weeks pay, and will give more as soon as I can.

Frankly I was shocked at the number of racers who hadn't donated yet when I saw the list. Come on boys and girls - this will be YOUR track. I can't help but think that you all don't understand that. If you truly did, I think you all would have donated by now.

If you have ANY questions about the new track, who's gonna own it, who's gonna run it, where you're money's going to go, etc... contact Glenn or I and we can talk you thru it.

I want a new track so bad I could crap myself! Imagine something as nice as Hastings, with a TON of elevation change, less than an hour from your home. \/ Oh, and YOU will own it! If that doesn't compel you to donate, I don't know what will...
