thats amazing. i cant believe they were able to 'buzz the tower' like that. could they swing that sport with nothing more than a rig and a car (no plane)?

i dont remember those suits getting a glide rate like that. after some quick googling i found this

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wingsuit_flying

"glide ratios of 2.5:1 are commonplace" that is crazy!!

Man!!! I'm in!.....I'm definitely considering this, on the Base Jumping aspect. I dabbled in skydiving for a while, and it was awesome. I was considering getting into Base Jumping, due to the fact that the risk is so much higher. The rush is much more significant, "Free falling" next to an object, as to jumping out of a plane, being out in the open, with nothing to hit but the flat ground.

Being able to fly like these guys for an extra minute or so before deploying the chute, would be off the hook!!! 8) 8)

I'm in, but you go first.
I noticed on the wikiaricle that 72 out of 75 of the original designers have died using their products. At least you can count on some really good advice from the 3 that lived.

Wait a min so the failure (death) rate is 96%... Maybe Ill stick to jumping off the roof with a huge umbrella..... so far Im only a 100% failure rate... Heck Im 4% away from marketing it...

That failure rate was the initial developers, back in the 1930s. Im sure similar figures exist for planes and helicopters.

Squirrel suits look badass. Ive wanted to get AFF certified for a while. Maybe ill actually do it one of these days.

realistically AFF is pretty cheap (compared to racing that is) its about $1200, and then you can go jumping out of planes all by your lonesome

I would have loved to had that setup on during my many highsides, could have made for a lot smoother landing.

Dion, the umbrella theory has a 100% failure rate. I broke my arm jumping off my roof with an umbrella when I was a kid. It hurt. I am totally in to try this, if your gonna die, be sure you get at least a few seconds of joy before you say ah shit! Glenn #62

    A little help

Okay, I can get recurrent again, flying (got the commercial tag, multi and intrument ratings), and I'll drop you off.

I knew we had some loose cannons here, but Jeeze! Guess that's why I enjoy you all so much!!!

I'd enjoy watching you all go for this one, the grins would go from ear to ear!
