Club Announcements



Bob Hasenhundl - President

  • Dunlop tire service support for 2024 will be provided by Racers Edge Performance & Brake Free Tire Service
    • Dunlop service will be at all MRA race events, including practice days.
    • The Dunlop contingency program is still in effect.
    • New Racers get $50 off their first set of tires when they present their New Racers Certificate.
    • A loyalty discount program will be in place for riders who commit to running Dunlop tires all season.
    • Dunlop customers & Sponsored riders will not be charged for tire mounting or flips.
    • Pre-orders are not required, they will carry a good stock of inventory at all events.
    • Reach out toDale Kieffer with any questions about tire compounds or pricing.

  • Race School is this weekend, there are 41 signups, with 16 race licenses, this is compared to 34 last year (21 licenses).
  • The board approved an increase in the offseason for ROR payout,that is now a minimum of 200% of the $50 entry fee.
  • Round 1 signups will open next friday, 4/19, instead of 4/11 as there still needs to be adjustments incorporated. There will be a mailchimp circulated with the information.
  • Chicken Hawk has sent the MRA $100 gift certificates, 2 provided for each event. The winners will be drawn at random after the morning riders meeting.
  • A new number board has been ordered to assist in the event there are multiple false starts. There has also been new equipment purchased for the safety crew.


Blair Harness - Vice President

  • Membership cards will be available either at Round 1 or at the General Meeting just prior to that round. The cards will be printed using the information from MSR, including your picture. If you would like to have a picture included, please update your MSR profile.

Deborah Bingham - Secretary

  • Novice racers were reminded to have their cards signed off to register their novice hours. Work continues on developing a spreadsheet to contain activities. Novices were encouraged to reach out to Tim regarding attending events.
  • Outside of the usual information available at check in, racers were requested to let Deb or Noel know of any additional materials they would like available.


Noel Ross - Treasurer

  • All racers should read the rulebook regarding refunds and credits.
  • The club is doing well for money. There was a $5K deposit paid towards the insurance, the plan selected by the MRA will save some money on the total amount paid annually.


Katie Rayburn - Race Director

  • Race school is fully staffed with safety crew. Hopefully these individuals will plan to complete the season.
  • Katie is sending an email on timing for the safety crew regarding race school.


Dan Spurlock - New Rider Director

  • Fay Myers will be open at 6pm for Race School, with class starting at 7pm. To allow racers to stay at High Plains overnight , the anticipated finish time is 8:30pm.
  • MRA members were encouraged to come out and support the race school.
  • Riders meeting for Race School will be at 7:30 am Saturday morning, with Tech opened after.
  • The curriculum will be focused on bike placement, corner entry and exit. First group will hit the track at 9am.
  • All 4 private instructing slots were purchased.
  • In response to an online question, Dan confirmed that if someone is coming to help a racer, they may be able to join in the classroom, however space is limited.
  • To select their number after completing race school, new riders will receive an email on the process, this email will contain information on available numbers.
    • There are vendors who provide the numbers, Mobar Mafia being one.

  • Tire vendors, Pirelli and Michelin, and Mobilebikeman for suspension will be in attendance at Race School.


Dustin Pfeiffer - VP of Rules and Tech

  • Dustin thanked attendees for joining the meeting and noted excitement for the upcoming season.
  • For belly pan inspections, Dustin will check these once per year and place a sticker on it, riders do not need to be present.
  • Riders were encouraged to finish preparing their bikes.
  • For Race School, double check that bikes are clean, free of any glycol-based coolants, and lights taped. If any race school attendees would like their bike tech’ed to race level, let Dustin, Dennis, or Dan know.


Dennis Stowers - Rider Rep - Rulebook

  • Printed RuleBooks will be available at the General Meeting just before Round 1, as well as being available at the first few Rounds.
    • Dennis hopes the online RuleBook will be available next week.
    • The weekend schedule will be released shortly.
    • Novice GTO has moved to Sunday and Amateur GTO has moved to Saturday. The qualifying for AGTO will be between C & D groups.

  • The final race schedule will be available soon, changes to the schedule have delayed things slightly.
  • Regarding the advertising in the RuleBook, not all advertisers are class sponsors and Dennis encouraged the racers to support all businesses that support the MRA.
  • The board is going to work towards having sponsorship and rule changes finalized before the year end.
  • The technical specs are different between race school and race weekends. Dan, Dennis and Dustin are willing to walk through the pre-tech checklist with racers.


Santiago Shirtz - Rider Rep - Trophies & Class Sponsors

  • Santiago asked riders to please let him know if there are any sponsorship opportunities they are aware of.
  • He continues to work to re-engage former sponsors as well as identify new sponsors.
  • Sarah noted that individuals opt to do business with people they like. Each member or racer has access to an individual pool of opportunities that would be beneficial to the MRA.


Tim Ellis - Rider Rep - PR & Events

  • Tim encouraged new racers to look after themselves during Race School by ensuring they drink enough water and electrolytes as well as eating healthily.
  • Tim has reached out to the MRA sponsors to ask how the MRA can help support them. All racers were asked to help support sponsors and promote the MRA.
  • Tim attended the Thornton Cycle Gear Bike Night and noted it was exceedingly well attended. Novices are welcomed to come join bike nights to hand out MRA materials.


Codey Chewning - Rider Rep - Press & Comms

  • There will be interviews held for RoadRacing World at Race School this weekend.
  • The FaceBook and Instagram pages are the primary sources of information.
  • Codey noted that it will be 78 in Byers this weekend and encouraged racers to hydrate appropriately.


Sarah Taylor - Sponsor for Amateur GTU

  • Sarah’s business specialty is branding, marketing and graphic design, focusing on motor sports and real estate.
  • Sarah will be in the paddock for racers to talk to and she’ll help in any way she can.
  • Sarah works by referral, her email address is valleycreativestudio.com.


Member Questions

  • In response to Bob’s question on race sign ups, Bob confirmed there are 99 registrations.
  • Gates open at 6pm on Friday night for Race School members to stay overnight.
