    ================================================== =======

Nominations for your 2008 Board of Director will begin September 13th

We will have a one month nomination period that will start at the general meeting on 9/13 and end at the general meeting on 10/11. After that, the ballots will be created and mailed out. You can either mail your ballot back in or bring it to the MRA Annual Meeting on November 8th. We will count the ballots and announce the 2008 Board of Directors at the Annual Meeting on November 8th.

The Vice President and Treasurer are in mid-term, the following positions are up for election:

    President (2 year term)
    Secretary (2 year term)
    New Rider Director
    Track Marshal
    VP of Rules and Tech
Rider Representative (4 positions to be filled)

    Guidelines:

    - Nominations do NOT need to be seconded

    - Nominations can be made at any MRA function, via phone or email to any board member (but preferably the Secretary) or on these forums. Please use this thread for nominations, do not start additional threads

    - Only current MRA members (associate or racer) can nominate someone for a position

    - Anyone can be nominated (member or non-member) but any non-members nominated must purchase an MRA membership before they can accept the nomination and be placed on the ballot

    - A person can be nominated for more than one position but they can only accept one of those nominations, you may not be on the ballot for multiple positions

    - Nominations need to be accepted or declined (preferably in writing via email) to any board member prior to the closing of the nomination period on October 11th

    - Nominations not accepted are assumed to be declined

    - If you are nominated and plan to accept you need to provide me with a one or two paragraph bio that will be included with the ballots -

Dave, I'm flattered that you originally nominated me for Track Marshal. However, next year I want to concentrate more on racing than I have in years past. Being Track Marshal takes a great deal of time and effort on a race day, and I feel my race program has suffered as a result. Either that or I have peaked and am too stupid or proud to realize it...ops:

However, I do enjoy being part of the MRA on the board level. I take great satisfaction in helping to guide and shape the future of our club. To that end I would like to stay involved as a Rider Representative.
Thanks again, you honor me with your vote of confidence...
