Calling Old School MRA Members - #1 Plate Holders?

The MRA has gone through a series of changes over the years, from being the Mountain Racing Association to the Motorcycle Racing Association.

Do we have records of all of the #1 plate holders in the MRA?

Our very own Mark Schellinger won that coveted plate twice(!) I believe?

Ricky had to have won it over the years?

Does anyone have a list of names with years?

That is indeed Rat's brother Tom, hell Tony as long as you've been around I figured you'd know him? Haven't you predated most all of us by years? You were certainly a member when I joined and you'd been racing for ever then. When you'd start racing with the club?

No, I've not met Tom... I was a bit curious about it being Ratt. He's pretty fast for an old guy, but didn't figure he'd have won ROR - even back in the day...

I actually started with the MRA in '90, after racing (read as crashing) a year with the AFM in Cali. That's where I had the misfortune of meeting Jim Brewer.

I think only Ricky, Pettiford, Otis, Schellinger, Donny and Pedro have been around longer than I have.

What's amazing about that is they're all fast, and I'm slow as an immodium laced shit. Wonder what I did wrong...?

    KIt's the kids

    Tony,
I suspect having kids adds seconds per laps as the responsibilty of them adds weight in a the wrong places! Out of the riders you mentioned, only two have the added weight that as we have.

I dunno. Technically I'm just as fast as I've ever been, in fact I did my best time ever at Pueblo on a 125 last weekend... It's not like I WAS fast and now I'm slow. I've just always been slow...

Given the technological advances in tires and stuff, I guess I "should" be much faster now than I was back in the day.

Yeah, maybe you're right. I'm slow because I'm a good, responsible father and upstanding citizen...  :-(0)

'82. AAAAAUUUUUGH! Boot Camp, Marines, fixing Pinto tranny during X-mas storm, .....Thanks for the memories. How about we reminisce(sic) about '87. Much better year for me...

Seriously, it's a blast to learn about our history. It shows that we can also have a future.

Looking forward to Saturday. Lincoln-13" of travel will get some fun sterring geometry changes, but, hey, your 6'4" so, go for it.
