MRA To Become AMA-Sanctioned Organization in 2020

Denver, CO - An agreement has been reached with the American Motorcyclist Association to see the Motorcycle Roadracing Association (MRA) be sanctioned by the AMA for its 2020 Road Racing program. This will allow the club to be a springboard for riders looking to make the transition to professional road racing. It also means that all MRA racers will have the backing of a nationwide organization that advocates for motorcycle riders.

“Joining up with the AMA for 2020 provides a network of support for road racing on a national level,” said Jim Wilson, President of the MRA. “We want to assure that the MRA maintains its position as one of the most competitive, and best, clubs in the country and remains a path to professional racing for riders looking to make that step.”

During the off-season, the MRA will be working with the AMA on meeting all the requirements of being an AMA-sanctioned organization. For the 2020 racing season all MRA members wishing to compete will be required to be AMA members.

"We are happy to add such an established and respected road racing series to our schedule," said AMA Track Racing Manager Ken Saillant. "And we look forward to a highly competitive 2020 season."

While several racers and non-racers already hold an AMA membership, those looking to purchase one can do so for $49 for one year, or $147 for three years. AMA membership includes a host of discounts and other benefits exclusive to its members. Discounts on insurance, MyLaps transponders, lodging, and car rentals plus roadside assistance are just a few of the many benefits available to AMA members.
