Here is a summary of the rule changes for 2019. There will be some administrative changes to not listed below. I am only listing the changes for 2019, not the suggestions. Listed below is only a quick synopsis of what the rule changes will be for 2019 and in no way reflects the actual wording that will be placed in the 2019 rulebook. This is for informational purposes only. The thread was not started to create a debate, but in an effort to keep racers informed. 1. Thunderbike

Homologation specials over 850cc are excluded. This includes, but not limited to Ducati models with SPS, R, and RS designations if they displace greater than 850cc.

Up to 1050cc two cylinder, liquid cooled, four-stroke
Up to 350cc two cylinder, liquid cooled, two-stroke
Up to 700cc three cylinder, four-stroke
Unlimited displacement two cylinder, air cooled, two valve
Unlimited displacement single cylinder

2. Production Cup now "350 Cup" and "500 Cup".

Will be broken down into two classes based on supersport rules:

350cc and 500cc four stroke single or twin cylinder motorcycles, produced and sold for street use in the United States.

Unlike supersport DOT approved street legal pump gas must be used.

A steering damper will not be required.


Up to 250cc twins and 300cc singles will be based on superbike rules.

3. The KTM790 will be eliminated from STGTU

4. Stop and go penalty will be eliminated and replaced with a time penalty.
