    2016 rule changes

Here are the rule changes for 2016. There will be some administrative changes not listed below. I am only listing the changes for 2016, not the suggestions. This is only a quick synopsis of what the rule changes will be for 2016. This in no way reflects the actual wording that will be placed in the 2016 rulebook. This is for informational purposes only. This thread was not started to create a debate, but in an effort to keep racers informed. If you want to discuss the reasoning behind the rule changes, please contact me.

    1. Quick change axels to be permitted in Supersport classes.

    2. For clarity.....any rider who takes the checkered flag by crossing the transponder loop on the hot pit lane (instead of the start/finish line) will be scored as if they crossed the loop at start/finish

    3. Formula Colorado will be the new name for the old Colorado Class

    4. Rick will look at putting LOR in front of MVGTU or maybe running one wave (this will not be in the Rulebook)

    5. We will recommend a front brake guard, and may make it mandatory in 2017.

    6. unlimited battery type allowed in all Supersport classes.

    7. addition of a supermotoclass

All motorcycles must a) be produced as dirt bike or supermoto bike

unlimited modifications allowed, but will maintain the OEM chassis.

    8. The points structure will remain the same for the top 5 finishers. We may change the point gaps for those outside the top 5, but the top 5 will be same!

    9. PRODUCTION CUP

    Classes remain the same.

Delete the requirement that the throttle control must remain stock.

Throttle control may be replaced with parts of unlimited origin.

    Allow a key eliminator

    Allow captive wheel spacers

Overall production cup champion (purely a year end award).

    10. We will create an ultralight weight endurance class based on Formula Colorado class rules.

    11. We may add ultralight weight to the 4 hour.
