    MotoKarting Lap #3!!

    Hey Racers,
That time of the year again to get our 4 wheel racing helmets on!!

    WHAT: MotoKarting!!
    WHO: US!!!
WHEN: Feb 11th, 2014 5pm-9pm (No, you don't have to be there the whole time.)
    WHERE: Unser Racing
WHY: Cause racers still need to race even if there is snow on the ground.

    How it works:
We will divide up into 3 classes. Novice, Expert and Street. You register in whatever class you are racing in the MRA. If you do not have a race license yet then you will be placed in the street class (feel free to invite friends). We will all start racing at 4 pm. You can race in any order that you want and with who ever you want. You can also race in as many races you want.

I will keep track of your fastest lap time of the night. At the end, I will take the average time of each class. The class with the fastest average time will be declared the winning class.

Last year we had a great time with some surprising results!!

    Prizes will be as follows:
1st place class - $20 gift cert for any
Sol Performance-Pirelli product or service. Including, Pirelli Moto tires, Chicken Hawk Racing Tire Warmers, Woodcraft Cfm products and more..
2nd place class - $15 rebate on your next take off purchase on
    2ndroll.com.
3rd place class: A very firm, and most definitely loud, high five!

Fastest lap from each class: A half lapping day at HPR!!(http://www.highplainsraceway.com) Courtesy of Glenn Conser and High Plains Raceway!! Thanks again for sponsoring the event. If you want to sharpen your skills at a great race track, look up HPR!

Second fastest lap from each class: A full lapping day cert at PPIR!! (http://www.ppir.com/) Courtesy of Paul Jensen and Pikes Peak International Raceway! Thanks again for the sponsorship PPIR! If you are looking at getting on the track and working on body positions, this is the place!!

We will contact sponsors for more prizes in the near future and post them here as they come in.

For the last couple of years,
Tracy Schram turned out to be the fastest overall lap. Can anyone bump him off the top spot??

Overall, we would just like to get everybody together for some warm winter racing and have some fun. Hope to see you at the (indoor) track!!

Please visit the following facebook event page and let me know you will be going or not:

    Thanks,
    Oscar

Just an FYI about the MotoKart event: Start time has been changed to 5PM. There is a group that rented the track and we can't get on till then. See everyone at 5PM tomorrow!

What a race it was this year!! First, thank you to everyone who came. It's always fun to get out and do some winter racing even if it is indoor and on 4 wheels. Even better to do it with a big group of friends! Thanks again for coming!!

    So on to the results:
    Top 3 in each class.

    Street:
    Steve Smith 24.175 (HPR cert)
    Keenen Dubord 24.548 (PPIR cert)
    Mark Auerbach 24.699 (High 5)

    Novice:
    Oscar Solis 23.606 (Forfeit Prize)
    Shawn Parrish 23.953 (HPR Cert)
    Brett Leveque 24.34 (PPIR Cert)
    John Chadwick 24.34 (Butt pinch)

    Expert:
    Rob Christman 22.897 (HPR Cert)
    Jose Rivera 23.07 (PPIR Cert)
    Josh Galster 23.253 (High 5)

    Overall top 10:
    Name Lap Time Gap
    Rob Christman 22.897
    Jose Rivera 23.07 0.173
    Josh Galster 23.253 0.183
    Dennis Stowers 23.405 0.152
    Tracy Schram 23.423 0.018
    Oscar Solis 23.606 0.183
    Mike Applegate 23.664 0.058
    Mark Applegate 23.823 0.159
    Nyles Gourlie 23.867 0.044

The outright overall track record for the current layout is a 22.887. Rob was only off that time by .010"!! So we really had a fast bunch of guys show up this year. Congrats to Rob.

We also had a last minute sponsorship submission by Casey Smith and Optimum Nutrition. Two 8.45 Oz. Platinum PRE- workout supplements. Great for your pre-workout training which gives you energy and allows you to focus more. Talk to Casey about any workout supplement needs you have.

These two prizes are going to the two guys that had that smallest gap between them and the person in front of them.

    1. John Chadwick for his .000" gap (Tie)
    2. Jim Wilson for his .002" gap

Take some of the PRE- workout supplement and train a little bit more to pass that guy who was just barely in front of you.

Just an FYI, if we were to rent the whole facility with the attendance we had this last round, it would have cost each person $267 to ride for the 4 hours we were there. So, I think are OK with keeping the format we have for years to come and dealing with a little bit of lap traffic.

Thanks again to everyone who came and a special thanks to High Plains Raceway, Pikes Peak International Raceway and Optimum Nutrition for the prize submissions. Please ask them any questions you have and support them when you have the chance!

Contact me for your prize if you have not gotten them yet.

See you all at the outdoor tracks on 2 wheels!
