2013 "40th Anniversary" Limited Edition MRA Shirts

    Hey guys.

We're doing up the 40th anniversary thing pretty big this year, and I'd like to have the T-Shirts follow in that same theme.

"normally" I wouldn't consider doing BLACK shirts, but for this year I am leaning pretty heavily towards that because they stay cleaner longer, they look bad-assed with the art layout, AND it's a limited edition shirt.

Input soon please.... Poll will run for 7 days.

If I had to guess, it would be the original CDR Raceway in Castle Rock or Adams County Fairgrounds. Woody would know for sure.

I didn't ask Woody where the first race was when I spoke to him awhile back but he confirmed that the MRA was founded in 1973 as the Rocky Mountain Motorcycle Road Racing Association. They decided to shorten the name to Mountain Roadracing Association prior to the inaugural season in 1974.

Here's one for you. How many of the people racing these days are still with the club and remember that 1st event? Was Val Agostino one of the originals, maybe Norm Meyer?
We know Ricky didn't show up until 77 but who are the other original participating members? Be neat to have a little get together for those who started it all at least invite them to the festivities we already incorporate. A brief history would be great as I'd like to know as I'd bet would a few others.
Also as neon wasn't real big in 1973 that I remember, I'd vote against it but dope was, so I'm thinking it be made from hemp. How retro is that? If you don't wear it you can smoke it

I have a resource, but the min qty for a decent price is 500 and that would put them at about a buck each.

let's discuss at the Board meeting.

The orange shirts from last year get noticed a lot so I would vote for the neon. Along with black of course. I would be down for 3 or 4 patches too.
I also think it would be great to invite the old school guys to the races too. Maybe some "demonstration" laps from them?

I like the black or black/orange. I remember riding my old Pan Head to watch Craig Brown race / work on his Harley up at Aspen. When the haze from my hemp t-shirt cleared I thought it would be cool to race !

I think the patches would be awsome!

Is the shirt deal going down after all?

I'd rock a 40th anniversary MRA hat too. Don't know if that's worth throwing in the mix!

Lost my ass on everything but T-Shirts when we had "other items" in the past... You could buy a 40th Anniv Patch (which are headed our way...) and have it stitched onto a hat though...

    Castle Rock Race Track?

Where in Castle Rock was there ever a race track? There's no way the people down here would ever allow anything like that now!
