It was a great weekend to be watching the races on a computer, and the proof is in 19 new class records! It was also a good weekend to be named David or Kelcey for round six at HPR. It didn't hurt to be named Shannon, either. Well, maybe a little by Sunday afternoon.
First, the David's. David Absolon (505) claims the Novice GTU record and David Mobley (78) now holds the Amateur GTU class record. But the "Big D" has to go to our newly adopted elf, David Kibler (108). In his second race weekend he claims a pair of wins and the Production 250 class record as well!
Visiting rider, Kelcey Walker (410), arrived on the scene to set no less than four records in Middleweight SuperSport, Heavyweight SuperSport, Middleweight SuperBike, and Race of the Rockies GTU. His lap time for the ROR-U race was more than three full seconds faster than the previous record.
Despite popping another engine in his SV650 and an unscheduled departure from his R6, Shannon Moham also set another four class records. Lightweight Grand Prix and Super Twins GTU were improvements on his own records; Heavyweight SuperBike and Heavyweight Endurance were new acquisitions. The most amazing part of the Twins GTU record was that it was run heads up with the Modern Vintage GTO class where a new record was set as well. But Shannon was faster on his SV650 than an unlimited displacement, big horsepower, 4 cylinder bike in Modern Vintage GTO! By the way, Shannon's SV is also old enough to be eligible for the Modern Vintage fields.
