    Feedback questions...

+ We're thinking of running the short course (cut-off at 4s and cut-off at 8/9) to ensure that the entire race is visible to spectators. Does this work for everyone? If so, does 5 laps sound good?

    - Also, Kevin thought it would be fun to allow one area where MTN bikes could cut the course to eliminate disadvantage against road bikes. Any thoughts on this? Any idea where a good spot for this would be?

+ We're thinking of running transponders to capture lap/class records. Thoughts???

    - Hippie Class - MTN bikes
    - Hottie Class - Female only
    - Hipster Class - Fixed/Single speed
    - Open Class - Everything else pedal-powered

+ Feel free to donate items as prizes for 'other' classes to be given at award ceremony following race (deodorant for Hippie Class, warm PBR for Hipster Class, etc).

+ 1 for the cut off, many of us race our ass off and 2 entire laps with all the steep hills would be killer for us.

    "Officially, sobriety is required."

I'll be the judge - however - of who is, and who isn't, sober enough to participate. My say is FINAL, no protests, no refunds!

Betting on a participant sounds like a grand plan to me... with the winner "taking credit for the dollar amount raised on his/her behalf" - but obviously all proceeds would benefit Zach.

Put me down for Hottie Class... if I'm gonna lose anway, might as well spend the evening pedaling around with some hot babes.

Sorry, losers. I own a '76 Schwinn Speedster. I mean, it says Speedster right on it. -And c'mon, a bicentennial bicycle? This race hardly seems fair. I'll rejoice in taking your hard earned doug...though I want the goaticorn.

I trust this will be a multiwave start to avoid a 17mph T1 fiasco?

Tom "You Damn Right, It's a Schwinn" Lilly - Class of my own - or some sort of MVU/hipster hybrid class.

Rules questions: Helmets mandatory? Speedo is satisfactory attire? (a shaved body goes faster.)

First, NO... Why in the world would we limit the mess going into turn one?!?! That is going to be the best part of the race to watch.

Second, YES... Helmets are mandatory and to take it one step further, we are making motorcycle helmets mandatory. This will assist in making the pics that much better.

You on a Schwinn wearing nothing but a Speedo and motorcycle helmet is full of win! Rybo is planning to wear leathers and may possibly rock a 1984 neon green Jazzercise unitard on top of his leathers.

I've added a track map to original thread. Check it out and let me know if everyone approves.

Five (short course) laps = 6.4 miles

We can cone off the Hippie Class shortcut to ensure people (Finnegan) don't get overzealous and start cutting off more of the course.

OH... One more thing. I've added a BlackBerry Bold 9900 AND BlackBerry PlayBook 32gb tablet as an award for best dressed. This will be judged by a panel of spectators and awarded during trophy celebration at end of race.

If anyone else would like to donate prizes and/or crazy ideas (i.e. best crash, tightest spandex, etc), feel free to message me.

Yeah I should note, I did tell Steve that their own sobriety was optional too... Moral of this story: I wouldn't crash if I were you.

We should have 'feed' zones where we can grab refreshing adult beverages. It's important to stay hydrated.

Also, prime sprints on laps 2 and 4 would keep the action fierce, no? Surely we can come up with appropriately inappropriate prizes.

406 racing will donate $50 off a set of new Michi's or a free set of take offs of your choice pending availability! I really struggle with doing anything that doesn't involve a motor tho so I will probably drink beer and watch Unless maybe we create a 50cc pit bike class

I can take payment via Paypal and then update 'paid' status on original post. I'll collect and will provide pay-out to winners/losers and Zach on race day. That's assuming you guys trust me with your $10. If so, fire away on Paypal @ david.p.mobley@gmail.com

Alternatively, you can bring cash to the track and we'll add you to the roster.

PS... I've updated everyone on the original post. Looks like we might break an MRA record with bikes on the grid!

PPS... Jim Browning (Rocky Mtn Photos) has agreed to provide a large printed picture/poster to give to Zach. We will be taking a group photo before the race and will collage alongside several 'action shots'. Thanks Jim!
