Hello all,

Just a note to let everyone know about the latest improvements at your track. We have started installing "Carolina" apex curbs, to the FIA/FIM dimensions approved and recommended by Alan Wilson. This week we did two turns and will do more as the free time in the schedule allows. I hope to have the entire track done by Nov 1. They have a rough brushed finish and eventually they'll be painted with non-slip paint.

Here's turn 3, looking counter-race. The white pvc pipes will allow water to drain through the curb instead of pooling up in front of it, they'll be cut flush after the concrete cures.

We are doing this "in house" - Mike and I, and one of our hourly workers are doing them ourselves. Since the most expensive part of concrete work is the labor this means we are saving approximately 75%-80% versus hiring a contractor.

Awesome Glenn! Looks great. Neat to keep seeing the improvement out there every time we come back out. Pretty lucky to have a track like HPR here in CO

I thought Metro Dave was more into pastels?

No red and white, every track in the country does that.

Ahhh Munch has jokes! I was saying red/white as it would match my livery color combo. :)

How about red, blue and white with Colorado logo?

Colorado Logo would be so sick. Different colors than everyone else for sure, and no pastels. Is there only a list of approved FIM colors?

Glad to see the improvements on the track, and I don't care about colors :) Just gotta bust on Dave to keep him in check :)

I was looking at the curbing going in at VIR, in this article:

Probably alot more costly design, but I was wondering if regular concrete works with Cataluna design, or would it break down?

None the less, can't wait to get back to HPR and play on the sidewalks!

Dude, pastel curbing would rock man... Don't deny it!

On a side note, as I was looking for curbing pics earlier I came across this amazing racetrack wall art. Need to get HPR added to the list of available courses: http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/race+tracks+of+the+world.do
