WTB: Pile of a Street Bike

I am looking for a two wheel commuter. (Actually, I want an 848 and am waiting for Sexy Ben to buy one for me. But in the mean time...)

I want something cheap like me. (Or, not so cheap depending on how good of a deal it is.)

Something that doesn't drip too much oil. Or, if it drips oil, it at least cleans up after itself.

Something that is not an "American Twin". Those bikes have their place, just not in my sorry excuse for a garage. I love Italian twins. (As long as they are not owned by me and I don't have to adjust the damn valves. Been there, done that.)

Something that isn't very cool. (Or, something cool but cheap.)

I have some SuperMoto bikes just sitting for possible trade if what you have is no-so-cheap and they are of any interest. (2003 CRF450 lowered, 17s blacked out, etc. CR125s sumo's in same condition)

Wyeth pulled out her CraigsList-Fu and found something, but it is currently in a non-running state so I am going to keep on the hunt for a bit...

I am thinking whatever it is we can dig up, the TIG and torch would come out and convert it into a streetfighter anyways...

One time I bought a bike that didn't run for $600 because I sent the seller a pic of myself, and he said I looked like a "cool kid." He got 100+ replies in 15 minutes, and I was #89 or some crap...

Anyway.

It was a 1995 KLR650 "barbie bike," pink + purple + teal w/ 15k on it.

The seller had no idea why it didn't run. I had no fucking clue, either. I just knew I wanted it, right?

I put a nice battery in it and picked through a fucking wire brush for the better part of 20 minutes finding a wire small enough to clear the pilot jet..

It ran. I rode it to Seattle that summer. I sold it for $1700 the second I got home. All of my CCs were maxed out, my checking was worth $0, and I was unemployed.

I was going to ask $8500 for the rocket and let someone talk me down to $8000. I'd be interested in trading for 2 supermotos, a pile of TZ parts, and some cash if you or anyone else are interested.
