I have an old spare pair of ~2001 Chickenhawk warmers where the front has crapped out. Chickenhawk won't repair anything over 6 years old. Anybody have any resources for this or can help me figure out if I can fix it myself? Not very good on the electrical repair stuff myself. Calling Rod Mattison? :-)

Good spare pair for somebody or as a cheap entry pair for a new racer if I can get it fixed.

there's a small capsule sewn into it about an 1" long and .250" in diameter that controls the switching from off to one under certain temps. this goes bad and the warmer wont heat up. replace it and you'll be good.

You can remove it completely and just twist the wires together, but make sure you keep an eye on the temp, because it won't be able to shut itself off and will eventually go into to meltdown. works in a crisis just make sure you don't leave them on for more than 40 mins or so.

thanks, yes, found it. assuming that chickenhawk won't sell me this part, any suggestions on where i might find one? is it just a temp sensor that i could maybe get at a specialty electrical supply? anybody have an old shredded chickenhawk warmer that they don't use that i could poach this part from?
