I've been on my bicycles a lot this winter, trying to keep in shape. Obviously not outside that much, but I've been using a bicycle on a trainer in spinning classes. These sessions are run by racers (bicycle type) and they will kick your ass. This is a great way to get your legs and cardio vascular system in shape, and improve your pedaling proficiency at the same time. Honestly the best workout I've ever had.

One class I hit every week is at Rock Hard Fitness in Arvada:

You need a typical road bike and a trainer. Really all you need is the bike; Megan, the instructor, can set you up with a trainer (no charge) if you don't have one. There's lots of room in this Wednesday night class for more people. Megan is a pro racer and she manages an amateur women's team. There's been nights when I'm the only guy in a class full of women. Not that this is a bad thing 8) But misery (ha!) loves company, so I thought I'd give a shout out to the motorized road racers, male AND female.

So you riders that already know the drill, or maybe you need to dust off the old bike, come on up and sweat some. It's only 5 bucks.

Click on the link for more info. Wednesday nights 7 to 8:30, classes will run thru March. If you have any questions, post up, PM me here or email me. You don't have to join anything, this is open to the public.

Bicycle Village also has indoor spin classes and you can use their CycleOps trainers.

Plus, it has helped alot to have a real bicycle fit done there!

We have a women's spin class and cycle group, but the coed classes kick some butt too! :o
