Following in the footsteps of several other clubs over the last couple of years the CCS Southwest Division is suspending operations for 2012.

Running races at Firebird and Inde Motorsports Ranch in Arizona the CCS Southwest Division often provided a place for racers to go in the off season to keep their skills sharp. At their awards banquet in December they announced that they will NOT be having a 2012 race season.

In reading the article, with a total of 70 racers, it's easy to see why a race club would have a hard time sustaining operations.

To this I say thank you to the MRA racers that continue to get licenses, come to races and participate in events. While your board of directors works hard to keep the club going, ultimately it is you, the racers, that cause this to keep happening.

If you haven't already, please fill out and send in your license application for 2012. Then save save save over these winter months so that your budget is adequate to get you through the 2012 season.

I can't wait for the season to start and look forward to seeing you all at our Awards Ceremony on February 4th!
