For those of us with AFM heritage, Joe Montoya was the AFM president for many, many years. I'm posting this without permission from the afm email list ..

This is a huge shock. I trust Mark will not mind my reposting his
facebook status here. Mark says:
The bad news just keeps coming in. Yesterday former AFM president Joe
Montoya, on his motorcycle, was killed by a car that lost control and
crossed the center line. The car driver was detained and
arrested. This happened on a road that I used to ride regularly, just
a few miles from my old house in Oakland. RIP Joe, you will be sorely
missed :(
In a comment on the post, Mark says it happened on Redwood Road.
