Thanks, man. I will bring some aluminum stock, some snips, and some metric hardware to the next race so we can make a bracket for that camera! I'll post some pieces from my go-pro - it's steady as a rock.

Sad thing with the Countours is they are very sensitive to bumps... Any jarring will shut it down. I've relocated mine to my helmet and have completely solved the shutdown issue.

Problem now is facing forward, the wind noise is horrible!

mine gets jarred around a ton and is directly in the wind and doesn't seem too bad to me. I have a newer model though.

I have the 1080p, non GPS, I was told the batteries are the culprit. They would lose contact and shut down. What I found was mine would stop recording, and not write the file to disk correctly, and I'd lose the whole session :(

You running forward facing? Hows your wind noise? If you have anything posted, hit me with a link. I'd like to compare. I'm uploading Supertwins GTO right now...
