Shall we start a game of who's seen the coldest temps?

I've already lost- a friend who lives in the Hurd Creek basin east of Tabernash got a picture of her thermometer at -47 EFFIN degrees at Dawn

Shit. While I was stationed in Fairbanks, AK, there was a 10 day period where the HIGH was -50. With no wind.

I believe it. My step-mom went to high school there on the AF base. The younger kids had outdoor recess until -20 and schools never closed, they became optional to attend once it hit -40.

Yeah, for sure. We'd run outside down to -20F.

Glad I don't live there anymore.

Sidenote: Dodd. Suspension showed up today. It's going to be sweet!

My first year of college in Fairbanks, we had a cold spell that lasted for a month and the temps never went any higher then -50 (actual temps, not wind chill) and at one point we got down to -70.

That along with a 30mph wind... is frickin cold.
