The Production 250 class.

With all the Modifications being allowed here - everything is easy to understand except for section F. What is meant by "slide hole may be changed"? Does that mean that we can bore out the carb. to make it a larger size, as long as we use the stock body?

Section F refers to the hole in the slide only. Since the carbs are CV carbs on these bikes you're allowed to change the hole size in the slide to make it pick up faster. This is a common and simple modification that would be done while jetting. The dyno jet kits used to come with the right size drill bit for the job.

Does that help?

That sure does help. Most of my racing was very long ago when most of the race bikes were 2 strokes and the others had plain slide carbs. and if the bike came with CV's they were replaced with something that worked. Things have come a long way over the years.

Just call me old, fat, and slow..

Hope to see ya at the up coming Banquet and at the races this summer. Living down south here in NM I do have a few track days down at Arroyo and Sandia plus a couple of race days to work on my setup..I hope to get a jump on some of you guys up north.

As of yet ASMA and SMRI don't Have a good class to race these fun little bikes. Tho SMRI Is thinking about one. Sure would be fun if in the future to Have a north/south 250 cup challenge race. (o'well dream on, old man, dream on)

Q: Is the change in SuperTwins GTU for 2 stroke displacement a misprint or an intented change? It leaves the TZ250's with only one sprint race (if the bike is older than a 2001), Race of the Rockies (if you're eligible), and Middleweight Endurance. I don't have one, no possibility of getting one, but wanted to point it out.

Q: Are the singles in Thuderbike allowed to be of unlimited origin since it is superbike based?

Aaron,

That bike has been (I'm sure) wrongfully omitted from this class for years. Unfortunately no member has written a rule change proposal in recent memory to correct this grievous and blatant injustice.... :)

I would need a bike with 60hp more that weighs around 60lbs less than the mighty SV just to keep Mohammer-Time in sight!

Casey, I revised the 250cc limit in STU to continue to allow the TZ's by taking out the words "single cylinder".

Also, I added the "and the countershaft sprocket cover may be modified or removed to accommodate "GP Shift Pattern" to Section Q as we discussed.
