Are the 01-02 wheels for GSXR1000 the same as for 03-04?

Or what wheels (years) will fit 03 GSXR1000?

Need to buy some spares :)

Thx.

Hope this helps (taken from Gixxer.com):

GSXR 1000 WHEEL COMPATIBILITY

Initial differences:

01-02 uses 320mm front rotors (same as the 99-07 Hayabusa) and a 220mm rear rotor.

03-04 uses 300mm front rotors and a 220mm rear rotor.

05-08 uses 310mm front rotors (same as the 08-09 Hayabusa) and a 220mm rear rotor.

The 05-08 wheels are lighter than 01-04 wheels and they have thinner spokes. I dont have exact weights for the wheels but I held an 06 front wheel in one hand and an 04 front wheel in the other and I didnt really notice anything. I did this swap on my 06 because I think the 01-04 wheels look better.

01-02 Front Wheel

Will fit 01-08 1000. Use brake rotor bolts from donor wheel. Use axle and spacer(s) from your bike.

03-04 owners use stock brake rotors and calipers. If 01-02 rotors are to be used with stock calipers a 10mm caliper spacer is needed or 05-08 calipers with a 5mm spacer. You could also use 03-07 SV1000(S) rotors which are 310mm. You would need to use 5mm spacers.

05-08 owners will need 03-07 SV1000(S) rotors which are 310mm and require no modifications, 01-02 rotors with 5mm caliper spacer, or 03-04 rotors with 03-04 calipers. 03-04 rotors are 10mm smaller so this is a downgrade from stock. If you are using 03-04 calipers with 01-02 rotors you will need a 10mm spacer or a 5mm spacer with 03-07 SV1000(S) rotors.

03-04 Front Wheel

Will fit 01-08 1000. Use brake rotor bolts from donor wheel. Use axle and spacer(s) from your bike.

01-02 owners use stock brake rotors and calipers. 03-04 rotors will NOT work since they are 20mm smaller than stock 01-02 rotors.

01-04 Rear Wheel

Will fit 01-08 1000. Use rotor bolts from donor wheel. Use axle, brake rotor, and chain side spacer from your bike or the donor bike, they are the same. 03-08 owners use your sprocket carrier, 01-02 owners use your sprocket carrier* You will also need to use your brake side spacer, caliper, and caliper bracket.

05-08 Front Wheel

Will fit 03-08 1000. Use brake rotor bolts and rotors from donor bike. Use axle and spacer(s) from your bike.

03-04 owners will need to use stock calipers with a 5mm spacer or 05-08 calipers with no spacer since the 05-08 rotors are 10mm larger.

01-02 owners will not be able to use these wheels with stock forks since the rotors are smaller and the 01-02 rotors will not fit the wheel.

05-08 Rear Wheel

Will fit 01-08 1000. Use rotor bolts from donor wheel. Use axle, brake rotor, and chain side spacer from your bike or the donor bike, they are the same. 03-08 owners use 03-08 sprocket carrier, 01-02 owners use your stock sprocket carrier* You will also need to use your brake side spacer, caliper, and caliper bracket.

*01-02 sprocket carrier is a different part number than the 03-08 carrier but it will fit in the wheel. If an 01-02 carrier is known to work on an 03-08 bike let me know and I'll edit the post.
