There is a lot of interest from non-MRA racers wanting to race at Miller with us July 8th and 9th, 2006. That's great, we're glad to have you!

In an effort to make it as easy as possible I've prepared this post. As with most of mine, it is verbose...

First things first. It would help tremendously if you would sign up for a "ONE WEEKEND LICENSE" well in advance. Otherwise it will be a complete cluster #%&K on Saturday morning.

Go Here: http://www.mra-racing.org/index.cfm?action=forms_downloads and print off ALL 4 FORMS under 2006 MRA MEMBERSHIP FORMS. Fill them out completely, and return them to me at the address listed on the Membership Form with some form of payment (we DO accept credit cards). The cost for a "ONE WEEKEND LICENSE" is $50, and if you don't have a transponder of your own - you'll need to rent one of ours for $10. We are an AMA sanctioned club. You MUST have a current AMA card to race with us. If you don't, you can include that as part of your application and I will procure one for you.

So:

Weekend License $50
Transponder Rent $10
AMA Membership $39

Not bad, huh? Under $100 to race with the most kick-ass club in the country!

Once you get your licensing out of the way, you will be able to pre-register for the races via our online registration tool. Go here to see that: http://www.mra-racing.org/online_login.cfm

You'll click on "New User Click Here" and that will prompt our Secretary to confirm your status and send you a username and password. You can't pre-register until we have you in the database as a licensed racer - so don't bother trying till you get confirmation back that you are licensed.

As far as class suitability, you should have a look at our rulebook. Sorry, the 2005 is the most current one on the web. Go here to have a look:
http://www.mra-racing.org/index.cfm?action=rulebook

Couple things you should know that are different for 2006:

125 GP bikes are legal for Supertwins GTU this year
125 GP bikes are legal for Colorado Class

You can't run any AMATEUR labeled class, if you are going to run either of the RACE of the ROCKIES classes. They're mutually exclusive. Either you're an Amateur or you're a Big Dog - you decide.

We have two types of racers, but three types of classes.

Novice Racer (Yellow Plate Black Numbers)
Expert Racer (White Plate Black Numbers)

Novice Classes (Only Novices can race in these classes)
Amateur Classes (Novices and Experts can race in these classes)
Expert Classes (Only Experts can race in these classes)

If you hold an "Amateur" license with another organization, you're considered a "Novice" in the MRA. Expert = Expert - the rest of you are Novices. Sorry.

Our timing and scoring system does not recognize alpha characters. You can not run 1x, or 52y, or 99z. All of our 2-digit numbers are already spoken for, so you will enjoy running a 3-digit number with the MRA at Miller. I will work with you to the best of my ability to find one where you can simply add another digit at the beginning or end. Obviously having this worked out well in advance would be a bonus for all of us.

YOU MUST BE A FULL SEASON MRA MEMBER TO WIN MONEY IN RACE OF THE ROCKIES! You can still race, but won't earn points or money if you're not a FULL SEASON MRA MEMBER. A full season membership is $160.

Manufacturer contingencies are elibible to ALL competitors, full MRA membership is NOT required.

This post also exists in the MRA General Discussion Forum
http://forums.mra-racing.org/viewforum.php?f=1&sid=828d325297feab66835960bd51672389

and I would ask that you ask any questions and things over there so everyone can see them. We'll do our best to have you all set and ready for some fun at Miller!

Thanks!
