This week the MRA board decided to offer open
practice in conjunction with the 2010 Race School.
This is an effort to increase on-track opportunites
for our members to prepare for the upcoming
season.

Open practice will be available both Saturday April
10th and Sunday April 11th.

The cost is:
$150 per rider for a full day
$90 per rider for the afternoon only.

There will be no morning 1/2 day session.

Requirements:

Rider must be an MRA member. Riders who
participate in the race school on Saturday are
eligible to practice with us on Sunday.

Motorcycle must pass MRA standard technical
inspection.

Registration will be available starting March 15th,
2010.

The event will run in sessions starting at 9:00 AM. Each session will be 40 minutes in length with the school starting on the track at 9:00.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Scott, can we use HPR Lapping Day cards for this or does the money funnel through the MRA?

Has nothing to do with HPR, except that it will be there. It is totally an MRA day, we rented the track for the weekend so the money needs to come thru us.

I didn't see anywhere that we have to pre-register for practice. Can we just show up and pay $90/$150 at "the door"? I'm in Mexico until Saturday night. I didn't want to attend unless I'm good and tan, changing into leathers in the pits an all...

Hey Tom, you don't "have" to pre-register - though it would help us tremendously if you would... We're into the track rental, insurance, etc... for over $12K for the weekend and it sure would be nice to know just how bad of a beating we're gonna take.

Would love to, just not sure if I can attend yet. I have a few variables, the main one being a part that makes the bike go. If it doesn't come in while I'm on vacation, I shoot for the next practice weekend.

My practice day depends on the US Postal Service. I wouldn't bet $90 on them.

So we could totally work our novice hours in the AM and practice PM????

I tried that approach too, seemed like Scott wanted all or nothin..

At this point the club would benefit THE MOST if everyone practiced a full day. We need the money more than we need the help at this point.

Tim Young (Track Marshal) is in charge of staffing for the corner crew, etc... You could ping him too and see how he's sitting for staff for the weekend, but from what he's told us so far he's in pretty good shape.

If a whole day of practice is what we need why offer a half day?

racedk6

If a whole day of practice is what we need why offer a half day?

Because people like me wont even show up if a half day is not offered. SO instead of getting my $180 they get $0.

$180>$0

would a verbal "Yes I will be there full day with $150 in my pocket" work or did you need the money in the bank so to speak?

T Baggins
March 26th, 2010, 07:40 PM
so long as you show up and give me your money, it doesn't matter "when" you give it...

But if you're able to pre-register online, that would be quicker and easier for all.
