View Full Version : Advice/Opinion - Aftermarket Gas Caps - what are my options?

I know about Vortex and Pro-Tek gas caps. I'm just wondering if there are any others out there that are worth looking at? Any problems lining up the threads while screwing the cap back on (in a hurry)? Are there any non-screw style (push-button/click-to-lock) available? If so, how are they (fit/finish/problems)?

Thanks in advance! 8)

The Lightech quick release gas caps eliminate that problem. I have one and it works great-

Thanks!

Are there any others, or is that pretty much it?

I don't know. I haven't seen any others like this one out there. It's a little pricey but worth it if you dont want to deal with the aggravation of screwing in the Vortex or Pro-tek. Yoyodyne and few other places sell them.

I just spoke to Brian over at TK and he said that Harris Performance has a qiuck-release one, but there are no pics of it on their website: http://www.harris-usa.com/accessories/harris_zstuff.shtml#fuelcap

Bob,

I have one like Jimbo mentioned. It's pretty much child proof so I don't think you should get one.

They are great and don't leak and allow for pressure release.

Thanks everyone, but I think I'm going to stick with the OEM one. Maybe next year. 8)
