All,

My Bosses on the HPR Board of Directors have approved a very special lapping day at HPR.

Next Monday, July 20th, there will be a motorcycles only Lapping Day at HPR. This is open to ALL riders, not just MRA Racers, and we will be running the full course. All of the profits from this day will be given to the MRA to help insure that the balance of the 2009 season can go on as scheduled. I will be donating my HPR salary for the day to the club as well.

If you're looking for track time and a way to help your club, now is the time!

Also, in order to keep costs down and get more money to the club, I am looking for volunteer corner workers for the day. If you can't afford to ride but still want to help, here's your chance! Please email me at mraracer157 [at] yahoo if you can help out! Lunch will be provided for all volunteers.

Click HERE (http://www.highplainsraceway.com/lapping-days.html) to sign up and pay. Please consider signing up for a full day even if you can only ride a half day, it's all going to help your club!!

Awesome!!!!

This is no small offering by hpr! We should take advantage of this and show up as I don't think they'll be handing out too many free days to the mra!

I'm showing up and paying. Not sure if I'll ride or not but I'll pay for a practice day regardless.

Please everyone take a day off work and show up. Or just pay for practice even if you can't make it. Please please let's not waste this opportunity! A low attendance of this day would be an insult to the hpr staff and management who are making this happen!

Thank Glenn. And hpr!

***Edited*** Sorry, I have to retract this statement about delaying the USE of a prepaid track day, because of the way this is being handled it'll screw up our tracking of the money. If you have already paid and planned to take advantage of this, please send me an email and we'll get it worked out one on one.

I ended up having to work today.

But I called Glenn and gave him a credit card # over the phone and paid for the day anyway.

He told me that attendance looked like it might be low and he had no volunteer cornerworkers. And would have to pay the corner staff out of the money made today.

Please if you can't make it call and pay for the day regardless. This money goes straight to Mra bank account to bring it out of the negative.

Thanks to all who were able to make it, I know it was short notice and many simply couldn't work out the logistics.

Kudos to Western Ambulance who donated their services for the day. I wasn't able to get any volunteers to work corners, but even after that expense, roughly $2200 will be going into the MRA treasury, as well as I am donating my HPR salary for the day.

Once again, thanks to the rest of the CAMA/HPR Board of Directors for allowing us to do this, and thanks to all who were able to participate!

Ya Me too  save the mra day huh shitty. I understand though. If its hard for your regular racers to come race the track day is just gonna be worse and I don't think there's enough street / track day guys that give a shit what happens to the mra for them to come. Some ya. But hard for those guys too that do as well. But I came hoping it would help a bit for the season, as my goal for my first year was to race 5 rounds and race at ppir. Seeing as thats not gonna happing maybe I'll get my 5. Had a good day learned some of the tracks changes from rd 2's weekend.

J Yo I got a little confused sorry. I was approaching you kinda fast. You were sitting up and looked back waving. I thought the wave by meant go 2 the left as you were in the middle but as I got to ya you went left I went to the dirt for a min. and the yellow monster went up the inside. Squiding it a bit for a second I was. All your stuff ok bikewise you wise?

Glen, Huge thank you for setting this up sucks No One could make it to ride or help out. sorry couldn't stay longer I was worried bout using the warmers soaking wet as well as everything else of mine wet making it a kinda miserable thought to continue.

Thanks to Glenn and the HPR Board for contributing yesterday to the MRA! It was a very good day, sorry more folks couldn't make it but I hope a bunch paid anyway.

Is it just me or does HPR seem about 10 degrees cooler than Pueblo? It was sunny and warm but not really hot. We had a convenient downpour during lunch, about 15 minutes of really hard rain. Followed quickly by clear skies and sun and a dry track about 30 minutes later. Glenn cleaned off the track and we were back in business.
