Last weekend was a milestone doing my first race and all. But I learned on Sunday afternoon that I had lost my best friend, Liz Majors. She died Thursday night in a motorcycle accident on I-25.

Liz was my motorcycle buddy, skiing buddy, bicycling buddy, dining out buddy, and sometimes even my girlfriend. She was so excited that I was going to give racing a try. She was even planning to come down to Pueblo Sunday to cheer me on and help me in my pit or maybe even give corner working a try. After I got the news I was in shock and denial.

Fortunately, I was around MRA friends and had people to talk to about it and that's what is so great about the MRA. Racing for sure, but more importantly having terrific people around when you need them.

If you see Liz's name on my race bike you'll know why.

Mark,
Sorry to hear about your loss. Losing anybody in the motorcycling community is tragic, but even more so when its a close friend. Glenn #62

sorry to hear that mark.

From reading the denverpost article, i am going to take away a small lesson for myself about paying more attention to the road, and I am going to try be a better driver. It's so easy these days to be distracted with things. And being a racer you get complacent about the mundane operation of a car.

i had the pleasure of meeting liz a couple of times here at the bar. she was a lady full of life and laughter. when i asked the bartender who had waited on you guys sometime last year when you were here, she still remembered the two of you. keep in mind that we meet hundreds of folks in a night and the last time you both were here was over 300 nights ago, so that says something. from me and holly, my bartender, we both would like to express our deepest condolences.
