If you're seriously going to change bikes, I know a guy who may want it.

Shannon, I can't say I blame you at all. I would suspect that here in a month or so, the market will be flooded with these. I saw 2 put up on the WERA forum today.

Sure is unfortunate...

Yep, sure is harder and harder to make a living racing bikes these days but back when I started it was so bad I had to get a second job, luckily I already had one and it was good so that I could deduct my loses from the loosing...uh I mean the racing.LOL

People actually make a living at club racing? Hell - I think it would be cool just to break even.

Yep their they're the one's who not only pit out of their trailer they live in them seven days a week. All I've ever managed to do is get a write off.

This sure doesn't help, so I am chasing a lot of other options.
This is going to hurt a ton of riders this year and then it all trickles down

Im sure it will hurt a lot of riders but, what I was saying in a sarcastic way was that you should be out there to have fun. If your trying to make any kind of career out of this, its hard in good economic times much less now.
Some will change rides, others may drop out all together. Ultimatly, you have to look out for yourself and do what you have to.

They are not trying to make a career out of this. When you spend 20k building a bike, 15k a season for tires, 5k traveling,2k in race fuel etc, in order to be front runner at club level racing, the contingency money that the manufacturers, tire companies, fuel companies pay plus purse money is huge in offsetting all those expenses. I doubt anyone in the MRA actually shows a profit.

In short, when you have brand loyalty, the brand should reciprocate.

the majority don't, but there are some that do, at least that I know of....but it takes a hell of a rider to do so.

Just a question. What was the payout last year. As I ride a non qualifying older bike far to slowly to get $$$, I am curious as to the most recent payout.

WOW! They seem to have slashed payouts a similar amount to the credit card companies slashing account limits.

in 2007 it was $2000.00 for a 1st place finish 8)
Supersport and Superbike. Not only have they cut the payout, but they are only paying the supersports for MRA and MoM.....BS

Geez -- You guys sure do have short term memories.

Yamaha has ALWAYS been the worst when it comes to screwing around with their contingency programs. Once everyone goes back to racing their Suzuki ZX-F4is, Yammie will (once again) bring back decent contingency...

This is just history, repeating itself. Again. And again.
