Well, I am bored and the boards haven't had too much lately SO, how bout another poll? Which track is your favorite? If you would like to say why that would be cool to see too. I think seeing as we are hoping for new tracks to be built/needing new changes to old ones that this knowledge could be worthwhile...............with out further ado.

As much as I reallllllly love pueblo it is a VERY close 2nd to PPIR... something about coming onto that banking drifting up, and back down for turn 3.... Mmmmmmm

My favorite is Pueblo, for the layout, elevation changes, and length.

I think La Junta would be my second choice, but that might be somewhat due to the novelty factor (and my choice might be different if we raced there more often). I wish it had a few more turns, but other than that it surpassed my expectations (of it being an oval with a kink   ).

PPIR... something about coming onto that banking drifting up, and back down for turn 3.... Mmmmmmm I think PPIR is a great facility (garages & paddock area), but I'm disappointed in the track surface for such a "high-class" track. That & it needs a few more right-hand turns.

Second Creek. It's my "home" track, I like the tight/technical stuff. I've always been on underpowered bikes, so that's where I could make up time, on the brakes, and in the turns. 8) I really like Peublo though too, nice wide lanes with plenty of run off in most corners, and I dig the elevation change. The facilities at PPIR are kick ass, but the track is pretty fookin' small, and like Bob said, the pavement is not that good considering...

I agree PPIR's surface is not the hottest for a 'high class' facility, and like I said pueblo comes in a VERY close second... just something about drifting up the banking at such a high speed... something is just really fun about that.

After watching Nudelman break his back and Elton break his face at PPIR, it has lost some of its luster for me.

I do love the facilities though...

(ask elton what it is like to have your jaw wired shut for months after hitting a wall covered in airfence. it hurts just thinking about it...)

My fav is Pueblo. :)

Pueblo is the most interesting with 2nd Creek coming in second, but PPIR is by far the highest quality track we have. Maybe one day we can combine interest with quality.

OK, I realize as a new racer who has only been on one track (CDR in the present) my vote is just my wishful thinking
I voted for Steamboat as I really like the idea of racing on closed roads ala Isle of Mann. I never had a chance to make it to one of the races up there (Steamboat) but it seems like it'd be a blast.

Another vote for the 'boat. There really was nothing like racing on city streets between condos, shops, parking lots, and avoiding curbs, lane paint, and manhole covers.

Ahhh and nobody ever complained about the safety of the track even when it was snowing.

I think a few things made it an event not to be missed:
- racing on city streets - the only one in the US
- held at a vacation destination resort (so the family could have fun, too)
- run in conjunction with AHRMA vintage races
I sure would like to see if we could get another one of these events going.
