The hardcopy article says that the full system starts at $10,000. The test at Reno-Fernley worked on 28 out of 30 bikes and the two bikes it had problems sensing worked fine after moving the RFID tag on the bike. They claim they've tested it up to 180 mph.


Seems that the difference between a $240 transponder and a $0.40 transponder makes it worth considering.

yup its been talked about a few weeks back. WOrd is that its super easy or MAY be super easy to hack....

Yes, and the system as a whole is very expensive. So while the transponder body itself might be 40cents, we would all need to still help pay for the entire system in one way or another...
