My GE oven went on the fritz. Anyone in the club do service and repairs of those things - or have any recommendations?

DIY. Ovens are easy to work on. What's wrong with yours? Glenn #62

F7 Error code.

That's all I know.

Thats a poor connection of the ribbon cable between the touch pad and the oven's computer. unhook it and clean it off with something electrically safe and reconnect. see if you still have a code. If you do, you have a defective touch pad. Glenn #62

Could it have gotten deformed by heat or something which would have effected the connector? We ran both ovens for couple hours and maybe the sheeeit got hot?

Either way, I'll pull it apart and see what I can find. Thanks Glenn!

so i pulled the faceplate off, figured out how to remove the ribbon cable (what a joke of a connection btw) and wiped it off on my t-shirt a few times.

Put it back together and now it works fine... wtf?!!?

Wonder how much GE would have charged for that service call?

Thanks Glenn!
