I'm sure you are all anxious to see how things are progressing at High Plains Raceway. I will be out at the site this coming Saturday (the 13th) from 11:00am till 2:00pm and you are encouraged to come take a look around!

Vanmar has generously offered the use of their grill and we will be serving hamburgers, hotdogs and sodas as long as they last.

To get to the site take I-70 to the Byers exit (#316). At the bottom of the exit ramp turn left/east on US Hwy 36 and go about 17 miles. Keep an eye out on the left for the construction activity and slow down, as the temporary entrance to the property is just past a rise in the road and it's easy to overshoot it.

So come on out and see how YOUR new track is going to look!

I'd love to see a couple pics if someone can take them. I'm in NY for 2 weeks so I can't make it.

Thanks.
Tom

Just a reminder that this event is TOMORROW!

This weather is supposed to clear out and it will be sunny skies and 75 degrees in Byers on Saturday!

Here is a couple slideshows of a walking lap of HPR. I'm limited to 50 pics per show so I had to do two slideshows. Here's a track map with some turn numbers added that correlate to the slide shows:

This first slideshow starts at the end of the back straight approaching turn 5 and ends as you enter turn 1.

The second slideshow picks up at T1 and finishes the "lap"

Thanks, Glenn, Mark, Tammy and all for doing this yesterday. This was my first time out there, and actually walking the track was an eye-opener. All the pictures and even the video game sims don't let you see the rolling/flowing nature of the track. I had no idea. This is not something you'll be able to get down after 2 or 3 track days. It makes Pueblo look like La Junta. It makes Hastings look, well, incredibly flat. I'm not knocking any of these other tracks, I love them all. But now that I've seen the challenge that HPR will throw down, I'm pumped. It's really happening, people, and I can't wait. And only 68.7 miles from my front door (Ward Rd. & I-70). Thinking of the gas money I'll save (and motel costs), maybe it's time for another donation...
