Six year veteran of the MRA and prior AFM racer, Gary, has finally kicked off the race tires. "My dogs are tired and my slides are feeling a little too flat." remarked Gary after last weekend's races.
Gary, the '93 Honda F2 who won a championship in the vintage class in 2006, finished his career in style. At MPH in Hastings, NE, Gary found the podium twice by finishing 3rd in Modern Vintage GTU and 1st in LoR. "I don't want to hang on and fizzle out like a lot of old racers do. My career has been quite rewarding and I'm ready hang up the tire warmers."
Gary's rider, Donna, agreed to the decision but not without much sadness. She said, "Gary is my first sportbike and racebike. When he told me he was ready to retire I cried."
Gary plans to spend his retirement years as a street bike in Ft. Collins, CO.

So, will there be a M/V replacement for Gary for the rest of this season?

Nope. The old boy is slowing me down on the new boy.
Hastings, Saturday MWSS on the R6 1:36.0, HWSS on the R6 1:35.8
Sunday MVGTU on the F2 1:41.5, LoR on the F2 uh, well, a lot slower, and finally AMGTU on the R6 1:41.0
