Hi, I'm a Fort Collins troll (non-racer) trying to debug a problem with my 2001 GSX-R1000 gauges. I have an intermittent problem where the tach drops to zero and the LCD portion (speed, odometer, temperature) blanks out when I'm riding, sometimes every few seconds, sometimes it's fine for minutes at a time. The clock doesn't reset (& the bike runs fine) so I think the gauge is getting power the whole time. I couldn't find a problem with teh wiring. I'd like to try swapping in a gauge with the same power plug shape (I think all the GSX-Rs of 2000-2003 will work: 600, 750, 1000).
Does anyone have such a gauge lying around? I'm hoping that one of you has replaced your stock gauge with a MyChron.
