Club Announcements


The Nite Owl was thanked for their continued support and sponsorship of the MRA

In person racers attending the general meetings received a 50/50 ticket

Ticket 3721232, Erik, won $50 towards MSR
Ticket 3721227, Jose, won a gift from the Nite Owl



Bob Halbert is taking over the Pirelli tire dealership for 2024, with a contract to be signed next week. The website, www.locotire.com, IG and Facebook will be up and running soon. The tires will be sold in the same spot at HPR as prior years
Regarding the profit from 2023, there was a small profit, however there were a number of unusual purchases, such as Conex, air fence, tire equipment and transportation costs
Discussion is ongoing around the supplying of Dunlop tires and an update will be provided in the near future

HPR configurations & multi-hour/special event have been posted

Two endurance races this year, with a double points round using the north course at HPR


USBA released their schedule, MRA met with the president David Meyer, discussions ongoing regarding an interclub endurance mini series. Championship will be held for the endurance races
Discussions will continue on discounts and per diems for out of state racers
This is going to cover both middleweight and leader bikes. There will be qualifying for the event
Some schedule changes are upcoming with the introduction of an amateur payout race on a Saturday
Remote attendees were reminded to email the Secretary to inform of attendance at the meeting, so it can count towards novice hours

Blair noted that membership is now open for registration and licensing, with email blasts. Early bird pricing is open until March 15th

Deborah Bingham - Secretary


As representatives and advocates of MRA members, we would appreciate input on topics members would like us to bring for discussion. We really want to increase engagement within our organization. Please email Deb any topics so that they can be added to agendas.
Novices should get a card from Deb to track their novice hours.


Noel Ross - Treasurer


Working on finalizing the budget for 2024, this will be updated dependent on inclusion of Dunlop tires
Work is ongoing with the accountants to finish the taxes for 2023
We have started receiving competition, associate, pit crew, & race school entries
The deposits for the tracks have been scheduled

Dustin Pfeiffer - VP of Rules and Tech


Tech is going to be located in RV spot #28
A checklist is being developed for tech to helps ensure consistency during the tech process, no matter who is teaching
Reach out to Dustin with any questions

Dan Spurlock - New Rider Director


There have been a number of inquiries for Race School. Private coaching sessions are being introduced, allowing the instructor to receive payment. These privately coached individuals will be allowed to participate in both A and B sessions

Vendors, including tires and gear suppliers, will be invited to race school to discuss products
A member noted interest in being measured by Bison leathers as having the ability to get measured onsite would be beneficial


There will remain 2 senior instructors, with 4-5 new lead instructors. There will be individually colored rider bibs for both the coaches and students to help differentiate them from other racers
Race schools are being considered for the Friday’s prior to the race weekends at Pueblo
Super Street punch cards are being introduced. The greater the number purchased, the greater the discount
For in-pit tech inspection, members will no longer need to be present during tech, they will be able to text Dan the location of the bike to be teched

Progress continued on the race control system last year. The system will continue to be worked on through 2024 to help improve safety.
New flags and other small pieces of equipment are being purchased for the 2024 season

Preview for Roadracing World will be provided for the upcoming season
MRA website is to be modernized to be more intuitive and user friendly

Working with new sponsors for 2024
Reachout is ongoing to previous MRA sponsor to attempt re-engagement
Trophies for ROR are being designed

Dennis Stowers - Rider Rep - Rulebook


Rulebook editing will be completed this month, so it can be published. The 2023 rulebook remains on the website for individuals to reference

Tim Ellis - Rider Rep - PR & Events


Denver Motorcycle Expo, January 27th - 28th, is coming up, which is a great way to gain novice hours
We are starting up attending bike nights in the coming months which is another way to gain novice hours before the season starts.
Members were encouraged to reach out to Tim if they know of events that could be attended to promote the MRA.

Bob asked the attendees if they would be interested in apprentice / helper positions, and if it would help increase engagement.

A number of attendees present indicated a willingness to assist / help without committing to being a board member.
