Important Announcements:
Thank you to the Nite Owl, tip your waitress well
It is our 50th year!
Insurance is paid. waiting to hear back from some of the tracks.
Workmans comp for the BoD and the corner crew is good to go
Contracts are good to go
Corner crew lunches will be covered and good to go this year
We still need an announcer for this year
Compensation for being an announcer is better than it was in the past
Integral part of running a successful race weekend
The BoD is pursuing the idea of being a distributor for Dunlop tires in Colorado
Want to make sure it is profitable and possible
Biggest concern is that we can logistically do it and that it will be worthwhile for us as an organization
If it is not reasonable for us to pursue, then we will absolutely not do it
Could be huge for helping us get newer and better equipment
Still looking for people who want to come out and be a part of the race weekend. Pit buddied not doing anything, Novices for Novice Hours. Great opportunity to learn something about Corner Working
Status Updates:

Bob:
MSR is adding a $2 surcharge to their events - this has been added to everything.
This goes directly to MSR.
At Round 1, I will have packets ready to go for every rider that includes all purchased passes and a print rulebook
I am still working on getting the first event ready to go so I can clone it to create the other Rounds.
A Mailchimp will be sent stating when all events are ready to go and signups can commence
In pit tech inspection - other orgs do this, so how do we fit this into our current model?
At other orgs, this is a Friday night only thing. You can purchase this service at the Raceday Office and will sign your waiver and grab a cone.
Someone will be wandering the pits looking for flashing lights. If your bike fails, you have to fix it and go back to regular tech into the morning
We are trying to get more BoD certified to do tech inspections to help tech go a lot faster this year
We are only going to have a certain amount of spots each race weekend to run it as a trial and will make adjustments as needed
Terri:
Still trying to get a meeting with Tait to get merchandise figured out - both been busy and having a hard time nailing down a meeting time
Novice Hours - pick up a card and don't lose it!
If you lose your card you are SOL. We will take pictures as proof of Novice Hours
Noel:
Lots of people getting their competition licenses
Some people in the race school have already committed to buying race licenses
We have 22 people in the school, so spread the word so we can get the school filled up!
Reserve has not been touched and all accounts are looking fantastic
Santiago:
Don’t wait to get your crap figured out. Start reading the rulebook and getting your bike cleaned up and ready to go.
Dan:
Sent out emails to instructors. Check your emails if you were an instructor last year. The coaches meeting will be here at the Night Owl on March 18th at 1:00pm
Working with a couple of extra instructors in case they are needed
22 signed up, 17 have committed to buying race licenses
28 spots are still available in the race school! Tell your friends
John:
MRA needs corner workers this year. If you know someone that wants to do it, get them in contact with the MRA
Jane and Kaitlyn are confirmed for Start Finish, Matt for Crash Cart
Heather Colton is questionable this year, 5 other corner workers have confirmed. Need 8 total fro Round 1
Tim:
Trying to find sponsorships and have been promoting the hell out of the club, if you have any questions for me please let me know!
Dennis:
Get your bike prepped and ready in advance! Double, triple check what the safety requirements are. Don’t be that guy.
If you think you are ready, message Dennis just to dot your I’s and cross your T’s
Strictly enforcing that everyone shows up and goes over the checklist in the Rulebook BEFORE coming to tech
Thinking of some good ideas on how to get the tech line to go faster and get it more consistent
We want to make sure the Rulebook is 100% accurate, so the Rulebook is currently going through one last edit to make sure everything says the same thing every single time. A lot was found, and it should make the Rulebook a lot easier to understand. The disclaimer will go away once the current rulebook is uploaded
Blair:
Added a sponsorship section on the website. It will show what classes are available once it has been updated if anyone is looking for sponsorships.
If there are any leads or if anyone knows someone, pass their information along so we can get them started on the sponsorship road
Contact information can be found on the website
Erik:
Chili cookoff works really well for Round 7 (cold, etc)
2 Cornhole tournaments? Round 1 and Round 6 - will give a fun vendetta at the end of the year to get revenge
Trying to figure out what to do round 5 at Pueblo
Won’t be at the next couple of General Meetings, hopefully will be back on my feet in June
Last call for advertising in the rulebook - if you contact us in the next couple of days we might be able to get it in on time
The NATC came out and raced with us last year and we were hoping to have them back out this year. They have canceled their 2023 season because they don’t have enough signups, however
All the NATC kids had a great time at HPR with the MRA, so we hope to have them back again soon
Final Remarks:
Looking forward to this season, it’s going to be a good year
Thank you for coming out, have no words of inspiration other than it is going to be a good year!
Member Questions:
Just Dunlop is being impacted currently correct?
Yes, Pirelli and everything else will be the same as it was last year. The Pirelli dealer is now going to be Glenn, but most everything else is staying the same
Louden will still be doing Dunlop yes?
No, he stepped down and will not be doing it anymore.
Where does the initial lump sum come from to buy tires at the beginning of the year?
Dunlop will take an order at the beginning of the year and will give us 30 days to pay. People can buy their tires and this will help with the initial cost
Are there any ideas for stocking tires and having any prepared?
Yes, we plan on having inventory and whatnot throughout the season. The goal is to have people preorder their tires for the race weekend through MSR.
Would any money have to come out of the reserve fund to get this going?
Potentially, Noel can talk to this later. If we need we can, but we will avoid it at all costs
MSR started using a Convenience Fee of $2 today, just so everyone knows.
What would the gross profit be in one year if this deal is pursued?
$30,000 gross profit
They take the tires back at the end of the year as well so we are never left with any stock
How would a racer get tires during a trackday?
This is part of the logistics we are looking into - we will be there before a race weekend. If it is a separate track day for another organization, we would have to plan that out. The goal is to be at as many as possible.
Tires will most likely be stored offsite, at HPR in the Connex, etc
The person doing the tires will need to be mobile, correct?
We will need to get rid of the current MRA truck to get something else because the box truck is currently out of commission. We still need to plan out how this is going to happen if we pursue this deal
Is there a PLan B if this deal falls through?
Someone else will have to pick it up or everyone will be riding another brand of tire this year
Who will be coordinating and buying Corner Worker’s lunches?
Lunches have been worked out in each track contract, but since you want to do desserts again this year, feel free to drop them off in the office and we can take care of it for you!
What is the proposed price for in pit tech inspections?
$40
This will be bought through MSR
Do we have any of the little schedules?
Yes!
Did we have all sponsors pay up from last year?
No, 2 have still not paid
Are we teching gear?
No - gear is on request only, ew will not ask for those unless there is a specific reason to. The only thing needed for tech is the bike unless you have been told otherwise
When is the Rulebook going to print?
Waiting on a couple more things for artwork, once that is done they will be sent to print. Last year it only took 3 days to get everything to print, will be a little longer this year due to a larger order
HPR added Mondays for trackdays and the Thursdays before MRA events if you want more track time. The track will open Wednesday night.
Advanced Rider Coaching is having a deal - purchase a sticker and get called during a Rider’s Meeting, you could win either track time or a GoPro footage session (and $100). All money goes toward the safety fund.
