2020 Rule Changes
Here is a summary of the rule changes for 2020. There will be some administrative changes not listed below. I am only listing the changes for 2020, not the suggestions. Listed below is only a quick synopsis of what the rule changes will be for 2020 and in no way reflects the actual wording that will be placed in the 2020 rulebook. This is for informational purposes only. The thread was not started to create a debate, but in an effort to keep racers informed. If you want to discuss the reasoning behind the rule changes, please contact Shannon Moham.

New Amateur Classes

We will run a Premier Amateur class based on HWSBK rules with a cash payout. A lap time cutoff of 115% of the class record will be enforced.
Formula 40 GTO & GTU are now split into Formula 40 Expert GTO/GTU and Formula 40 Amateur GTO/GTU.

All F40 classes will be run at the same time with F40 GTO and F40 GTU sent off as separate waves.

Entering any Amateur defined class (Premier Amateur, Amateur GTO/GTU, F40 Amateur GTO/GTU) on a given weekend disqualifies you from racing RoR GTO and RoR GTU that same weekend.
The top 5 overall for Premier Amateur Amateur GTO or Amateur GTU at the end of the year will be ineligible for all of those classes in subsequent seasons.
Similarly, top 5 overall for F40 Amateur GTO or GTU will be ineligible for subsequent seasons for these classes.

They my still race Amateur GTO/GTU and Premier Amateur as long as they meet eligibility for those classes.

AMA

AMA membership is required to race.

Production Cup Classes

Production cup bike will be allowed to run a modified shock linkage as per prior years.

Thunderbike

Thunderbike will be upped to 800cc triples. twins limited to 1000cc

E-bikes

Electric bikes will be based on STGTO until more data/bikes actually hit the race track.

Modern Vintage

The modern vintage exceptions list has been updated in the rulebook. Check there for specifics.

Administative & Procedure changes

End of the year credits not redeemed will go to the safety fund.
We are working with insurance to finalize racer age limits
Saturday’s race day will run 2 practices. We will solicit feedback for the new format as the season progresses.
We will make effort to generate electronic pre-grids, but as always CHECK YOUR PREGRIDS!

The board is looking forward to the changes and an exciting 2020 race season!

Thank you.
