MRA Racers and Friends,

The MRA is committed to providing a good experience for our members. As a result of monitoring social media we’ve identified a couple of lingering issues that we hope to clear up with this message. First is PPIR Garage Rentals.

Pikes Peak International Raceway, home for Round 2 and Round 6 of our championship series this year, has recently informed the MRA that the day garages, that have typically been available for rental, are not available this season.

PPIR has booked the garages with permanent tenants and they are no longer renting them out on an event-by-event basis.

I understand that for some this is an inconvenience, and we had it good for a number of years as the garages were included in our facility rental. That arrangement is no longer in place and at this time the MRA will be using outdoor pit spaces and generators, much like we do at the other tracks in our series.

Powered RV spaces are available at PPIR and are paid for at the entry gate when you arrive. Spaces are $50 and are assigned on a first come, first serve basis and are managed by the track, not the MRA.

PPIR will be holding a test and tune event on Friday May 19th, before our event. Cost is $150 full day/$100 half day and sign up is handled at PPIR at the gate when you arrive. Again, this event is not operated by the MRA, but we are assisting with staffing and we appreciate PPIR’s cooperation in running an open lapping day before our event.

Also of concern is the credits that have been issued for Round 1. The MRA intended for these credits to be available to our members for Round 2 registration and we see that several of you are having trouble using them. Our treasurer, Laci Lukachy, is ready to assist to assure that you get your credits appropriately applied as soon as possible. Please reach out to her by email at money.mra@gmail.com if you have any trouble.

There will be additional discussion regarding these topics that you are invited to participate in at the next MRA General Meeting on Wednesday, May 10th.

Should you have any questions please direct them to me at mraracer29@gmail.com or respond to this post.

Regards,

Jim Wilson
MRA President
